🔒 Privacy at a Glance: 100% On-Device Processing

Stiko processes your screenshots, images, and screen recordings exclusively on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store your personal media on any cloud server.

At Stiko (“the App”), created by devbymeco (“we”, “us”, or “our”), we believe privacy is a fundamental human right. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Stiko application across iOS and Android platforms.

1. Core Privacy Commitment: Local Media Processing

Stiko is designed from the ground up as an offline-first, local-processing utility:

  • No Media Uploads: All screenshot grid detection, background removal, perceptual deduplication, video trimming, and WebP sticker encoding occur entirely within your device's local application sandbox.
  • No Server-Side Image Storage: We operate no remote storage buckets or databases for your media files. Your source images, video clips, and generated stickers never leave your phone.
  • Immediate Frame Cleanup: Temporary decoded image buffers and video frames generated during the cropping or encoding process are automatically purged upon task completion, cancellation, or failure.

2. Information We Process

A. Local Data (Stored Exclusively on Your Device)

  • Sticker Packs & Drafts: Pack titles, sticker ordering, draft status, and generated WebP sticker files are saved in your device's local database (Room SQLite).
  • App Preferences: Language settings (System, Spanish, English) and UI preferences stored in local device settings.

B. Optional Account Data

Creating an account is entirely optional. Stiko offers 100% of its sticker-making functionality without requiring sign-in. If you choose to create an account (powered by Supabase Auth):

  • Authentication Providers: Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or Email Magic Link.
  • Identifiers: A secure unique user ID and the email address associated with your chosen sign-in method are processed solely to manage your active session.
  • No Cloud Media Sync: Having an account does not sync or upload your stickers to the server.

C. Operational Telemetry & Diagnostics (Firebase)

To help us identify crashes, monitor stability, and improve app performance, we use Google Firebase (Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics) to collect aggregated, non-personally identifiable operational metrics:

  • Aggregate events (e.g., onboarding completion, candidate sticker count bucket, encoding duration bucket, export success/failure).
  • Technical diagnostics (device model, operating system version, crash stack traces).
  • Strict Privacy Boundary: We never log, transmit, or attach images, video frames, filenames, local file paths, sticker text, or content hashes to telemetry or crash reports.

D. Advertising Information (Google AdMob)

Stiko displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Ads are subject to strict frequency caps (at most once every second WhatsApp export, with a maximum of 3 impressions per day).

  • Personalized or Non-Personalized Ads: On iOS, we request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. If you grant it, Google may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to serve personalized ads and measure their effectiveness. If you decline, or where not permitted, only non-personalized, contextual ads are shown. You can change this choice at any time under your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Consent Management: We integrate Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage privacy choices and consent in compliance with GDPR and applicable regional laws.
  • Advertising Identifier (Device ID): When you allow tracking, your device's advertising identifier may be collected and shared with Google for third-party advertising purposes. You may decline without affecting the app's functionality.

3. Device Permissions and Their Purpose

Stiko requests only the minimum necessary system permissions to function:

  • Photo Library / Media Picker (`NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription` on iOS / System Photo Picker on Android): Required solely to enable you to browse and select your screenshots and screen recording clips. Stiko only accesses the media items you explicitly select.
  • Internet Access (`android.permission.INTERNET`): Required for optional Supabase authentication, serving AdMob advertisements, and submitting anonymous crash diagnostics.
  • WhatsApp Handoff (`LSApplicationQueriesSchemes` on iOS / Android Intent): Used to verify that WhatsApp is installed on your device and to hand off your finished sticker pack to WhatsApp. Stiko cannot read your WhatsApp messages, contacts, or chat history.
  • Tracking (`NSUserTrackingUsageDescription` on iOS): Used to ask whether you allow your device's advertising identifier to be used for personalized ads. You may decline without affecting app functionality.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Local Data: Retained on your device until you delete a pack or uninstall the application.
  • Account Deletion: If you created an optional account or wish to request data deletion, you can do so directly in the app via Settings → Delete Account, via our online Account Deletion Request Portal, or by emailing us at marcos@devbymeco.com. Account deletion immediately revokes active sessions and permanently deletes your authentication record from the server.

6. Security

We implement strict security practices to safeguard your data. Because all media processing is contained locally within your device's isolated application sandbox, your creative assets are protected by your operating system's native hardware and software encryption. All network communication for optional authentication and telemetry is encrypted using industry-standard TLS/HTTPS.

7. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA & Global)

Depending on your region, you have specific rights regarding your personal data, including:

  • The right to access or receive a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • The right to request rectification of inaccurate data or complete erasure of your account.
  • The right to withdraw consent for optional features or advertising at any time.
  • The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Children's Privacy

Stiko is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product improvements or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated Effective Date.
